It has been my privilege to work with Alex Cameron for over a year now.  Alex has asked me to write something for about the changes I have seen.

Alex is a very intelligent and a highly driven man.  He is greatly admired by many many people, who appreciate his directness, his honesty and his determination to change the world of telecommunications for the better.

Very often people that are highly driven to achieve something are not only being driven by the wish to travel to their destination, but they are also being driven to escape from their past.  Alex is very open about the difficulties in his family life when he was young, and how much this has shaped him as an adult.  In the time that I have worked with him, Alex has been extremely brave in confronting this, and he has taken some amazing steps to forgive those that caused him so much pain in the past.  The effects of such a dramatic change are there to be seen.  Alex is an amazing person who will change the world, but now the “missile” has now become much more focussed – he knows where he wants to go, and how to achieve it. The energy is far more channeled in a specific direction, and in fact Alex will increasingly be able to use his difficult early life to his advantage – he was not born with a “silver spoon” in his mouth, he comes from the University of Hard Knocks –  this will give him a great deal of “street wisdom”  in the years ahead, with a solid understanding of what is driving different sorts of people.

Everything that Alex will achieve he will have achieved for himself!!!  He has been given no easy ride in his early years!

A meeting with Alex is a very refreshing experience.  The range of subjects we have discussed is immense.  There is a strong spiritual belief that I deeply respect in Alex – and he mixes his spirituality with his realistic view of the world.  Some people have commented that Alex doesn’t listen well to those that don’t agree with him.  He acknowledges that he has not been prepared to accommodate opposing views in the past – but he now realizes that it is the “running away from” that has been driving him on this.  Life is so unbelievably short, and Alex wants to achieve a great deal in the time that has been allotted to him to spend on this planet – up to now time has not allowed him to consider opposing views!    But Alex has increasingly understood that as it is his destiny to be a Leader, then he owes it to all to listen to all, and to take us all with him into the future.

As I write this I am conscious that I have Dinner with Alex again tonight. I am looking forward to it very much – our conversation together is always wide-ranging, deeply penetrating and peppered with a great deal of chaotic hilarity.   I count Alex as a very good friend, I know that I am going to have a fantastic evening with him, and I look forward to spending many years ahead helping him shape the future.
