across the world with kate’s tres blondes

It’s a very small world, and it keep getting smaller. Recently my buddy Joe Shooman introduced me to Kate Wellham, who leads of troupe of 3 mad women who like doing insane and often pointless things for the sheer hell of it.  Together they form the Blondes. Their most recent adventure was reporting from “in The City” in Manchester for the music conference.

But before that. their most infamous madness/genius was travelling from country to country with only the help of AQA (”All/Any Questions Answered”), the text-based question-answering service. I’ve been talking things through with them (with Kyle Spooner and Roach Productions) about how we can help, as i know Joby has an insane jaunt across the US up his sleeve for next May.

So why is it a small world? Well apparently Kate and i already knew each other, as she promoted Kitty’s band in leeds this time last year and knows them very well indeed as they stayed at her place and most of the boys tried it on with her. Bizarre, but just shows the circles you get renown in if you work for it.

if you have any ideas for their next mission, make sure to drop me a line so i can pass in on to them.

star trek, thinking for tuesday and midgar’s launch

it seems like the musical innovation we’ve long been pushing for is starting to spread. Tom’s band “Thinking For Tuesday” have a pretty unique campaign going on where they want the fans to choose what songs get put on their first album. TFT are a hard-working and humble bunch who have kept their heads down and just pushed on regardless of the rest of the world. Full kudos to them for it.

You can vote for the songs you want on the album on the Thinking For Tuesday website.

And even if you’ve never been into Star Trek, and think you will never be, it might be time to change your mind. JJ Abrams is bringing out a Star Wars/Bond-style “Early Years” Star Trek version of Captain Kirk ’s younger days which is action-packed adventure movie complete with adrenaline-racing CGI that is a complete reinvention of the franchise that is simply unmissable.

Check out the trailer:

And the time has come. Rob Fisher’s MIDGAR are officially releasing their debut EP “Of The Ancientswhich is one seriously stunning work of brilliance. 3 guitarists and some incredible harmonies that reallt grow on you. The show itself is at The Robert Peel in Kingston-Upon-Thames and tickets are £5.00 ijn advance.

Virgilio, Nathalie, Chloe and Jake will be down there, as well as Rob, Gemma and everyone else. Het your ass down there for 8pm.
